The 2015 cruise was quite satisfying in that 6 boats started , with four going the full planned distance and one carrying on from the official finish to visit Ireland.
The start date was Saturday 27th June, with all boats meeting at Clachnaharry Sea lock at 0800. After completing the canal trip we went to Oban, Tobermory,Loch Drambuie, Fingals Cave, Bunessan, Ardalanish, Craobh, Craighouse, Tayvallich, Craobh, Dunstaffenage, Corpach and home again a round trip of over 350 NM.
Most of the photographs in this album are taken by me, however, my thanks to Jim Cockburn for his contribution.
When we arrived two of our own boats were already there but so were several Nairn boats
Clach Sea Lock
The first Lock with Clubs boats rafted together
A double locking at FA saw our group going up in second batch : minus Windflower who had broken down in Loch Ness. Mike Burns had repaired his engine but was now a good bit behind us
Rainy Loch Lochy
Why does it always rain in the canal?
About to go down Neptune's Staircase, soon be at sea again.
At Oban we were joined by Don Thomson , a sailing buddy of mine from over 40 years ago

The sail up Sound of Mull was great on a broad reach, until we were hit with winds of over 40knts! Interesting!
An overnight in this one of my favourite ports. I am so fond of it I went swimming in harbour (Not by choice!I fell in)

We had planned to stay here for the night ,however with a poor weather system forecast to hit us in the next couple of days we headed down Sound of Iona for an anchorage on south coast of Ross of Mull.

It was here that Don caught the bus back to Oban with Davids son Ian and we were then joined by Mike Burns as crew replacement for Ian . Poor Tom is stuck with me!
Sound of Jura
after a day off in Craobh, waiting for weather system to pass, we set off down Sound of Jura to Craighouse
There are good moorings at Craighouse on Jura at reasonable rates
Misty Morn on Jura
After leaving Craighouse we sailed up Loch Sween to Tayvallich

After a fairly rough night of wind, the morning brought us a pretty good day to start heading homeward
